Superior Hero Tales: Bruce Henke

February 27, 2020

Into the annals of SHTA history will go section adopter Bruce Henke.  He’s hanging up his loppers this year after 26 years of working his section from Castle Danger Road to the Nestor Grade (about 4 miles).

“It’s been very fun and rewarding,” he told us, “but I’m getting up there in years and it’s gotten to be a very long day.”  He said he’s pleased to see the Association’s commitment to improving the physical structure of the Trail under the Trail Renewal Program.

Bruce’s long tenure as a section adopter is truly remarkable, and we are pleased to salute his commitment and service to the SHT. Thank you, Bruce!
