Development and Communications Associate

Are you passionate about the Superior Hiking Trail or protecting wild outdoor spaces? This part-time position is perfect for someone who would love to tell the Trail’s story and help to raise the funds we need to take care of the SHT.

Job description

This position assists in serving the SHTA’s robust membership and donor community, and provides communication support to ensure the trail community is engaged, informed, and inspired!

The Development & Communications Associate will work a hybrid 20-hours per week schedule, supervised by the Development and Communications Director, to achieve together the organization’s fundraising and communication objectives. Focusing primarily on donor management, the Development & Communications Associate will support the design and execution of individual fundraising strategy and activities at SHTA.

Responsibilities will include supporting fundraising appeals and maintaining the fundraising database. The Development & Communications Associate will also create content and assist in the distribution of communication through multiple platforms (Mailchimp, website, e-newsletter, etc).

This part-time hourly position is located in Two Harbors, Minnesota. Remote work arrangements available, with a minimum of 12 hours in office required each week. Hourly rate is $20/hour. Benefits include paid safe and sick leave and the option to participate in a match retirement plan.

The DCA will help with fundraising for things like Trail Renewal Projects on the SHT.
The DCA may also represent the SHTA at area events, doing outreach and education about the Trail and stewardship (membership, volunteering, etc.)
The DCA will also capture the Trail’s story, and the latest news from the SHTA, by creating content for our print and digital publications and social media.
