Help the SHTA build the new Onion River Bridge. Volunteers will learn how to layout and construct abutments for a bridge. Tasks may include site layout, prep and excavation, measuring, marking and cutting lumber, and constructing timber cribbing and steps. During the bridge build, volunteers will assemble and install a fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge. Additional work may include completion of the abutments, cribbing, or stairs, trail construction, and hauling materials to or from the work site. No experience necessary! All tools and training will be provided by SHTA. Expect a 0.5 mile hike from trailhead to project. Camping and dinners provided (details will be emailed before the event). Register below.
