Hoops Ale for a Loop Trail
August 1, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeIn partnership with the City of Duluth, the Superior Hiking Trail Association is building new trail to create a loop at Ely’s Peak, soon to be the third in the “Triple Crown of SHT Loops” in Duluth. Hoops Brewing is excited to host SHTA for an evening to support the new loop project!
Join us on Wednesday, August 1st from 6-9pm to raise a pint and learn more about the new section of Trail. Hoops Brewing will be crafting a special “Ely’s Peak Ale” to celebrate, and there will be a raffle with great prizes to raise funds for the project. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
SHTA staff will be in attendance to provide an update on the project and answer your trail questions.
Work on this new section of trail is being funded through the City of Duluth’s St. Louis River Corridor Initiative and a match from SHTA. The St. Louis River Corridor Initiative invests in public park and trail improvements from Lincoln Park to the Fond du Lac neighborhood. These initiative projects have already benefited the SHT by helping to create the Brewer Park and Spirit Mountain loops in Duluth. Initiative projects are funded in part by $18 million in bonds, collected through the ½ and ½ tourism tax approved by the Minnesota Legislature in 2014. These funds leverage additional dollars through community partnerships and grants. Raffle proceeds from this event will go towards the SHTA’s funding match.
