This easy to moderate 5-mile hike involves a steady climb in the first mile but after that it includes little elevation change. Hikers will pass a large and active beaver pond with a possible stop to watch the resident beavers getting ready for winter. The trail passes through managed forests of different ages that will give participants a chance to experience forest succession and learn about the different forest inhabitants likely be be encountered in each type. Sections of this forest are composed of tamarack trees that are often at the peak of fall color in early October. If you are looking for a quiet trip on a remote section of trail before putting away your boots for the winter, this trip is for you.

This is a shuttled hike. End time of the hike will be flexible depending on how long it takes to complete the shuttle process.

Youth ages 12-17 are welcome if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
