Crow Creek (North) Project
September 25 @ 8:00 am - September 27 @ 4:00 pm
Thank you for your interest in joining us on a volunteer project! We hope you can join us to finish up a multi-year project on the Superior Hiking Trail northeast of Grand Marais.
This project will take place September 25-27 and will be led by Volunteer Crew Leader Stephanie Hoff.
It entails several smaller projects in the same area including but not limited to:
-Constructing handrails on a new set of steps.
-Improving a steep slope.
-Building an approach to the West Fork Kadunce bridge.
-Installing handrails on Crow Creek and West Fork Kadunce bridges.
Work will start each morning at 8AM and will go until about 4PM. It is less than a mile hike into the worksite, but all uphill.
Bring work gloves, comfortable work clothes, and leather work boots. Also bring water bottles (at least 96 ounces), sun screen, bug spray, and a pack for things you will need for the day. Long sleeves are highly recommended. We will provide tools, personal protective equipment, and training.
This project can accommodate around 12-15 volunteers per day. If you plan to attend with a friend, please make sure you both register.
The Superior Hiking Trail Association has reserved a group campsite in the Grand Marais Municipal Campground for all participants who are interested in tent camping.
