Lisa Luokkala – Executive Director

Lisa started at SHTA in August 2020. With 15 years under her belt in the nonprofit and public sector, she is excited to bring her expertise in outdoor recreation infrastructure planning and management to SHTA.  Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a “yooper,” Lisa’s life path was shaped by this abundant access and love of green space. Although she loves a good weekend getaway, Lisa rarely ventures too far from the ridgeline or the water’s edge of Lake Superior nordic skiing, trail running, hiking, paddling or being a beach bum.
