This easy to moderate 6 mile hike is a kaleidoscope of diverse forests, swamps, bogs, and marshes influenced by the work of a multitude of beavers.. The turnaround point is in a gorgeous ridge top oak forest that is a vital stopover point in the fall for a variety of migrating birds. Rarely seen by anyone who is not a through hiker, this section is a true hidden gem of the SHT.
