Have you been whacked in the face or tripped up by low-hanging branches while hiking the SHT? Here’s your chance to clear the trail corridor of woody brush using hand tools and to mark the trail you’ve cleared with fresh blazes. SHTA and Northwoods Volunteer Connection are cooperating to clean up brush and add new blazes on the Trail. No experience necessary! All tools and training will be provided by SHTA. Expect to hike up to 3 miles round trip to the work site.

Location: Volunteers will meet at the Grand Marais Municipal Campground, Group Camp 1, at 8:30 a.m. and leave from there to the work location.

Free car camping provided, details emailed shortly before the event.

Youth ages 12-17 are welcome if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
