DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Superior Hiking Trail Association is pleased to present An Absolute Beginner’s Guide to the SHT: A Webinar and Q&A with Anna Swarts on Sunday\, February 21\, 2021 at 3pm (CST) via Zoom. \n  \nDo you have zero hiking experience but feel the urge to hit the Trail?  Are you equal parts excited and nervous about getting started?  This webinar will well-prepare you for a safe\, enjoyable trip. Tune in to learn the basics for planning and navigating your first day hike or overnight backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail from Anna Swarts\, an experiential educator and experienced SHT user. While this webinar is designed to help absolute beginners get started\, SHT users of all experience levels are invited to attend the virtual event. You’ll be able to submit questions at any time during the webinar\, we invite you to submit your questions in advance to info@superiorhiking.org. A captioned recording of the webinar will also be shared on the SHTA YouTube Channel after the event. \n  \nAbout the presenter:\nAnna Swarts is an experiential educator\, avid outdoor adventurer\, and SHTA volunteer. In 2020\, she received her Master’s Degree in Education: Natural Science and Environmental Education from Hamline University. She completed a solo thru-hike of the Superior Hiking Trail in 2013. Her mission is to prepare and empower people to experience the outdoors.
