SUMMARY:SHTA Ambassador Training
DESCRIPTION:Thousands of people use the SHT each year. Some users may not be aware of good Leave No Trace techniques that will help the SHT be a sustainable trail well into the future. \nIn 2024\, we’re hoping some of you will join us as Trailhead Ambassadors to help educate users in the best ways to keep the trail in great shape. Ambassadors will greet hikers at popular trailheads throughout the hiking season\, and particularly on some of the busiest weekends of the year. Ambassadors will answer questions and provide information\, but more importantly will be there to help users understand their impact on the trail and how Leave No Trace techniques will help keep the SHT in great shape. Shift lengths and dates are negotiable\, although we will have some specific needs. \nIf you are interested in joining this exciting new program\, we have a couple of training opportunities available to get you started. The class will be offered twice\, once in Bloomington and once in Two Harbors. If you prefer to take an online class\, please let us know by registering below. The online course has not been scheduled. We’ll be in touch with those who request an online training with more information. \nRegister for Bloomington course \nRegister for virtual course \nTwo Harbors course is full \nWe are undergoing updates to our database. If you have any problems registering\, please contact Barbara Budd at volunteer@ superiorhiking.org.
