SUMMARY:Guided Hike: Section 13 to Finland Community Center
DESCRIPTION:This 7.5 mile hike features some of the most spectacular scenery and diverse habitats on the SHT. From the breathtaking views from the Section 13 cliffs\, to the primeval vistas of the Sawmill creek valley inhabited by otter\, beaver\, and moose\, to the remote aspen and cedar forests along the baptism river\, this trail has it all. This hike is moderate to difficult. Hikers should plan on meeting at the Lake County Road 6 trailhead at the posted start time. Participants will then board a shuttle bus to the hike starting point at the SHT Cook County Road 6 parking lot. Exact start and end time of the hike will be flexible depending on how long it takes to complete the shuttle process. \nRegister here

DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand – a backpacking trail maintenance team! Water crossings on tributaries of the Cross River need improvement. Volunteers will remove a bridge and place one or more stone step crossings. This is a strenuous trip that is open to volunteers with at least one day of trail maintenance experience. Previous backpacking experience required. You must commit to all three days\, and you will need to provide all your own food and backpacking gear. In addition\, you will carry 5-10 lbs of SHTA-provided tools to the site. The hike in will be about two miles and mostly uphill.
