SUMMARY:Split Rock River Bridge Build
DESCRIPTION:Make history during SHTA’s 40th Anniversary! Help build the new Split Rock River Bridge! Volunteers will assemble and install a 55’ fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge across the Split Rock River. Additional work may include completion of the abutments\, cribbing\, or stairs\, trail construction\, and hauling materials to or from the work site. All tools and training will be provided by SHTA. DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Unruly Women (unrulywomen.org)\, this project is reserved as an all-femme event\, which means all folks who are female identifying and/or femme leaning non-binary individuals. Help SHTA build new boardwalk near Wild Valley Road. Volunteers will use hand tools to prepare the site and construct the boardwalk. No experience necessary! SUMMARY:Split Rock Backpack Team
DESCRIPTION:This 4-day backpack crew will put the finishing touches on the Split Rock River bridge and the new trail that leads to it. There is a small chance that if all work at Split Rock is completed\, this trip would be moved to Cascade River or Bean & Bear\, where there is also finish work to do. This is a strenuous trip that is open to volunteers with at least one day of trail maintenance experience. Previous backpacking experience required. You must commit to all four days\, and you will need to provide all your own food and backpacking gear. In addition\, you will carry 5-10 lbs of SHTA-provided tools to the site.
