DESCRIPTION:A Blue Blaze Blitz is coming to a trail section near you — join the Superior Hiking Trail Association’s effort to re-blaze the Trail! \n \nMany of the blue and white blazes on the SHT have faded or gone with downed trees since they were originally painted back in 2006 & 2007 (read about the history of the SHT’s blazes here). It’s time to restore these blazes to their original glory and ensure trail users are able to find their way on the SHT. \nSHTA will provide training\, supplies (brushes\, paint\, templates\, etc.)\, and directions to your assigned trailhead. \nRegistration is now closed. Please stay tuned for future volunteer events!

DESCRIPTION:Sucker River to Fox Farm\, 5 miles \nSaturday\, October 5\, 10am\n\nOur Fall Colors series continues with a 5-mile adventure with SHTA volunteer Steve Coz through inland forests\, just as they reach peak fall colors. Cross the Sucker River on an A-frame bridge\, hike over a large beaver dam\, and cross your fingers for a rare moose sighting – there’s plenty of moose sign here.  And who knows – you might even see Birchy the Beaver too. Meet at Fox Farm Road Trailhead. \nDirections to Fox Farm Road Trailhead: From Hwy. 61 milepost 14.9\, turn north (inland) on Homestead Rd. (Co. Rd. 42) and go 5.75 miles. Turn left (west) on West Knife River Rd. and go 0.5 miles. Turn right (north) on App Rd. and go 1.5 miles to intersection with Two Harbors Rd. on right. App Rd. changes to Fox Farm Rd. at this intersection. Continue straight (north) on Fox Farm Rd. 0.9 miles to trailhead parking lot on left.
