SUMMARY:Lakewalk Improvement Project
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for your interest in joining us on a volunteer project! \nThis project\, led by Volunteer Crew Leader Michael Loscheider\, will remove an old boardwalk near the Hovland Lakewalk and replace it with a sustainable\, safe structure. \nWork will start each morning at 9AM and will go until about 4PM. Bonus: rest breaks will be on the shore of Lake Superior. \nBring work gloves\, comfortable work clothes\, leather work boots (8″ high preferable) and if possible\, rubber muck-type boots (calf high) for working in swampy conditions. Also bring water bottles\, sun screen\, bug spray or head net\, and a pack for things you will need for the day. Long sleeves are highly recommended. We will provide tools\, personal protective equipment\, and training. \nThis project can accommodate around 8 volunteers per day. If you plan to attend with a friend\, please make sure you both register. \nThe Superior Hiking Trail Association has reserved a group campsite in the Grand Marais Campground for all participants who are interested in tent camping. \nPlease click here to register for this volunteer event.  \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Tamer Ibrahim at tibrahim@superiorhiking.org.
