Summary: Backpack 24.6 miles from Judge C.R. Magney State Park to Pincushion Mountain in 4 days, 3 nights. Begin your trip with the only part of the trail that is directly on the Lake Superior shoreline, follow several classic North Shore river gorges, including the Kadunce and Devil Track Rivers. End your trip with the sweeping vistas of Grand Marais, Sawtooth Mountains, Lake Superior and Devil Track River Valley from the summit of Pincushion Mountain.

Day 1: Judge C.R. Magney State Park to Kadunce River Campsite. 9.3 miles
Day 2: Kadunce River Campsite to Durfee Creek, 6.9 miles
Day 3: Durfee Creek Campsite to West Devil Track River Campsite, 5.4 miles
Day 4: West Devil Track River Campsite to Pincushion Mountain Trailhead, 3.0 miles including the spur to Pincushion Mountain summit.
